Trackstar Plus What RAC Trackstar Plus Does: RAC Trackstar Plus will track your car from the moment it is moved, without your vehicle's key. This vehicle tracker works by sending a signal to the RAC Trackstar National control centre who will immediately pin point your vehicle using the American Military GPS satellite network. The RAC Trackstar Plus stolen vehicle tracker system is also equipped with a motion sensor and will alert the Control centre in the event of your vehicle being moved by low loader or towing. RAC Trackstar will call you to confirm that your vehicle has been stolen and will liaise with the police, who are given details of your vehicle's precise location. Your vehicle will be retrieved and returned to any UK mainland address by either the RAC (with no extra charge to you) or the police, depending on the circumstance. These signals are updated every 20 seconds. You could get your car back within an hour! Even if your car is not stolen, RAC Trackstar allow you to verify the whereabouts of your vehicle 6 times a year. RAC Trackstar is part of the Trafficmaster group. You may be aware of Trafficmaster from their network of traffic flow cameras, these are the blue poles you see on most UK trunk roads. Being part of Trafficmaster means that Trackstar is able to offer many optional extras not found on other vehicle trackers, like Safespeed, European cover and Emergency and Breakdown (please see the optional extras page for further information). EPS Series Reverse Sensors The sensors emit short pulses of ultrasound waves, which then rebound from obstacles within their field of view. The rebounded signals are then received again by the sensors. The central control units then evaluates the time delay of the rebounded signals and interprets the distance of an obstacle. Four ultrasonic sensors are installed into the rear bumper. Once reverse gear is selected the main control unit provides distance information via a small speaker, which is mounted inside the vehicle. Initial tones confirm the selection of reverse gear, as the vehicle reverses nearer to an obstacle the tones become more frequent and remain constant at approximately 30cm from the obstacle. Internal speaker volume is adjustable between high and low. External sensors can be colour coded if required, without affecting the performance of the system.
